August brought with it a chance to run into a longtime supporter, Perk Bearden from Texas Motor Sports in Harker Heights.

First, I was able to catch up with him at the CFMOTO Dealer Meeting in Minnesota. Then, my old Powersports Business colleague Liz Keener of the MRAA ran into him earlier this week at the Yamaha Waverunner Dealer Meeting in Florida.

Perk is certainly a road warrior, which comes with the territory of being in the dealership business for 53 years. Throw in his ongoing interest in hearing about what's what from folks like Liz and me, and it's always time well spent.

The Yamaha celebration night encouraged attendees to dress in a 1980s Miami Vice theme, so those two obliged. In Minneapolis, I needed my track shoes to make the skyway walk from the hotel to the Convention Center to get as smart as I could about dealership scoop.

More goodness from the CFMOTO show can be found over at the newly launched PDS Instagram. Join my pals like Chris Watts, Justin Johnson and Matt Fleetwood by giving it a follow for some early-stage growth!

Here's to a strong ending to the month.
